104448. John¹⁵ CAOCH 6th Knight of Kerry (child of Nicholas FitzMaurice, #208896);[566] married Helena (--?--) (see #104449) before 1479.[569]

Perhaps John was the builder of Rahinnane Castle, a castle built by the Knight of Kerry in the parish of Ventry, Dingle peninsula.[580] John granted the site for the Friary of Glanworth, Co. Cork, before 1475.[581]

208896. Bishop Nicholas¹⁶ FITZMAURICE 4th Knight of Kerry (child of Maurice FitzRichard, #417792);[566],[566] died before 1450.[582]

Nicholas expelled his brother Edmond. He was appointed Bishop of Ardfert by Avignon Pope Gregory XII and in 1408 is referred to as being Bishop elect, but not as yet in (Priest's) orders. On 25 Oct 1409 he was ordered by Pope Alexander V to be removed... but on 26 Jan 1410/11 he was restored by the anti-Pope John XXIII.[569]

ii. . James (--?--) 5th Knight of Kerry;[566] James was one of the magnates who joined in 1468 to restore James, Earl of Desmond to his inheritance[after his father Thomas FitzGerald was executed by Edward IV of England].[583] James died without issue.[574]

Maurice was the Sheriff of Desmond.[585]

iv. Gerald FitzMaurice;[566],[566] died before Mar 1406.[586]

Gerald was Canon of Limerick and of Cloyne in 1394.[581]

Knighted between 1330 and 1345, Richard was a follower of Maurice, the 1st Earl of Desmond, Custos Pacis (i.e. Sheriff) in Fermoy, Co. Cork, in 1347 and 1356.[581]
