Relgion, Disciple 2 Apr 1875 at Erin Twp., Wellington Co., Ontario, Canada.[443],[444] He appeared on the census of 1861 at Lot 11, Con. 10, Erin Twp., Wellington Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where David (62, but 52 is likelier) was a farmer, Baptist, wife Abigal (61), David (22) and his wife Eliza (21) and two others, Abigal Stinaf (14, neighbour) and Marget McLeod (15, possible granddaughter) were present. The farm was 100 acres total: 39 devoted to crops, 31 to pasture, 30 wild or wooded. James5 DOYLE; born circa 1801 at Ireland;[503] married Jane (--?--) (see #111) circa 1826;[504] died before 1871.[505] He served in the military in 1828 possibly as an ensign for East York (from east of Yonge and Scarborough Twp.), or with the 3rd West York (Toronto Gore and Twp.), Company 5, when aged 24 years.[506] A James Doyle Sr. received by an order-in council, some clergy reserve property north of Schomberg (lot 34, con 11, King Twp.) on 1 Apr 1830, while residing in Tecumseth Twp. Henry Hatton."[523] (It is unlikely that Francis' Hatton bride was a daughter of the rector of Gorey).[524],[525] He was living in 1743 at Tinahely, Co. Wicklow, Ireland; where he appears on a deed receiving lands from George Morton in Tinahely, Rossabawn, and Lugduff. Witnesses were Jack Hatton and John Briggs, 2 May 1743.[526] Children of Francis6 Morton and (--?--) Hatton (see #193) were as follows: i. Wicklow, Ireland.[529] Henry recorded as justice for corn trading certificates around 1788-1791.[530] Henry was the magistrate in Tinahely during the Rebellion of 1798.[531] "involved in engagements during the 1798 rebellion... a local Magistrate."[532],[533] During the Battle of Ballyraheen 2 Jul 1798, while loyalists hole up in Joseph Chamney's mansion, the rebels with whom they were engaged lit fire to Henry Morton's house next door.[534] ii. Henry7 HATTON; It has been said that the father of the "Hatton daughters" was the Reverend Henry Hatton, rector of Gorey (1615-1669), but that is surely false considering the daughters were born around 1710-1729.[551] It has also been said that the father of one of the Hatton daughters, was Henry Hatton (d.1742) , innkeeper of Gorey.[552] It remains unresolved who this Henry Hatton really was. Because of the severe anti-Catholic Penal Laws, he became a Protestant and lived the latter part of his life at Drumcose, a property in Co.
