386. research note: The
recorded events attributed to "James Albery" relate to two people: one born
1754 (labeled James1) and the other circa 1766 (James2). These events
listed below are grouped under the James to which they relate, with a third
group of unproven relationship, followed by my assumptions.
Events belonging to James1 (b.1754):
1. James born 1754 to George
2. George (father of James) is a maltster in Petersfield 1784
3. James (age 30) m. Elizabeth Forster 1786 who d. 1789, and had 2 children between 1786-1787
Events belonging to James2 (b.c. 1766):
4. James (wid.) married Mary Phillips 1809 an had a son George 1824 (perhaps other children as well)
5. James age 75 was an agricultural labourer with George age 15 in 1841 census
6. James dies 1844 age 80
These events must be connected to either James1 o James2 (our James, the subject of this research indicated with a star*)
7. James Albery* m. Francis Poling 1790 who d.1805, and had 8 children between 1791-1804, inc. daughter Elizabeth who married Thomas Bone (a maltster)
8. James Albery m. Sarah Helyer 1790 who d.1796, and had 3 children between 1791-1796
9. James was a Maltster in 1823, 1828 and 1830 on College St.
My current assumptions are that,
a) our James Albery (event 7) is James1, and that he was the maltster (event 9), and that he followed in his father's trade (event 2), and also shared that trade with his son-in-law Thomas. Our James married earlier (event 3), remarried only once (event 7) fathering 10 children between 1786-1804.
b) James2 also married twice, and fathered at least 4 children between
1791-1824, was an agricultural labourer and not a maltster, and has no
known relation to our family.. {1}.

attributed to "James Albery" relate to two people: one born 1754 (labeled
James1) and the other circa 1766 (James2). These events listed below are
grouped under the James to which they relate, with a third group of
unproven relationship, followed by my assumptions.

403. research note: Edward's father was
William Stallard as per 1) Edward's 1792 baptism record, the only one for
an "Edward Stallard" in Buriton near that time. NB all baptisms for
"Stallard" children in Buriton from 1788-1795 were for William Stallard and
Olive's children. There were none record before 1788.. {1}.
404. research note:
Edward's mother was Olive Patrick as per 1) Edward's 1792 baptism record,
the only one for an "Edward Stallard" in Buriton near that time. NB all
baptisms for "Stallard" children in Buriton from 1788-1795 were for William
Stallard and Olive's children. There were none record before 1788..
{1}.
405.
Assumption: The recorded date of baptism 1792 DOES NOT compare well to the
DOB based on ages at census: 1841 aged 45 (could be as low as 40 based on
rounding method used, and 1851 aged 50, giving DOB of around 1801. But it
does compare well with Maud Pride's family narrative, and fact that the
1851 census does report Edward was of Buriton, and there are no other Bapts
for Edward Stallard in Buriton.. {2}.

Todman of Sheet married Wm Langrish 25 Jul 1812, had son George 1818. Wm
died 1819 and Charlotte Langrish married John Pledger 13 May 1820. She
appeared in the 1851 census in Petersfield (HO107/1677 p194) as aged 57

parish records (burials 1701-1812), yet ages at death not recorded.

761.
research note: There appear 2 likely possibilities: #1) Mary Page was the
mother of the first four children only and died in 1716. She may have been
born anytime between 1665-1683 ( accommodating reasonable child bearing
ages), and then died with an age between 33-45 years old. The remaining
four children could be of son Edward b.1699 and another Mary, who then died
in 1726/27 with an age in the range of 23-45 years. #2) Mary Page was the
mother of all 8 children, and died within a month of the last one. She
would probably be born between 1681-1683, and would be around 43-45 years
old at her death. The death of Mary in 1716 may be attributed to the wife
of another Edward, perhaps the son b.1699. Determining the ages at death of
the two Marys would help determine the truer tale.. {0}.
